Privacy Policy
The short version.
- We collect what we need to run our games and online services: your account, your game progress, the data that multiplayer needs to work, and what you send us.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
- Chat and reports may be reviewed to keep players safe. Anti-cheat checks look at gameplay data.
- You can see, correct, export or delete your data at any time. See how to delete your account.
- Our games are for players aged 13 and over.
1. Who we are
Veni Vidi Games (“VV Games”, “we”, “us”) is „VENI VIDI GAMES” S.R.L., a limited liability company registered in the Republic of Moldova under state identification number (IDNO) 1026023158101, with its registered office at bd. Mircea cel Bătrân 50, bl. 4, ap. 906, MD-2075 Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used and we are responsible for protecting it.
Contact for anything about privacy: [email protected].
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- our games on every platform (PC, console, mobile and web), including their single-player, online and multiplayer features;
- our online services: player accounts, matchmaking, game servers, leaderboards, cloud saves, chat, friends and parties, in-game purchases and player support (together, the “Services”);
- this website, venividigames.com.
A game may have a short supplementary notice in its menu or store listing if it does something this policy does not describe. Where it does, that notice and this policy apply together. Stores and platforms you play through (for example Steam, the App Store, Google Play or a console network) have their own privacy policies; see section 7.
3. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: email address, display name or username, password (stored only as a secure hash, or handled by a sign-in provider), and your date of birth or age confirmation.
- Sign-in with another account: if you sign in with Apple, Google, Steam, Discord or a console account, we receive an account identifier and, depending on your choices there, your name, email address and avatar.
- What you create and send: chat messages, player names, clan or team names, custom content, reports about other players, and messages to support.
- Survey, playtest and feedback answers, if you choose to take part.
Information created when you play
- Game data: progress, saves, inventory, unlocks, settings, scores, ranks, match history and statistics.
- Multiplayer data: lobby and match membership, in-match actions and inputs needed to run the game, latency and region, friends, parties and blocks.
- Purchase records: what you bought, when, the price, and the transaction ID. We do not receive your full card number; payments are handled by the store or payment provider.
- Device and connection data: IP address, approximate location derived from it (country or region), device model, operating system, game version, language, and identifiers we or the platform assign to your installation.
- Diagnostics: crash reports, error logs and performance data (for example frame rate and load times).
- Usage analytics: which features and modes are used, session length, and where players get stuck, so we can improve the games.
- Safety and anti-cheat signals: gameplay patterns, client integrity checks and server-side validation results that help us detect cheating, fraud and abuse.
Information from others
- Platforms and stores confirm purchases, refunds, entitlements and your platform account ID and friends list where you allow it.
- Other players may report you, which gives us their report and related evidence.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive information such as health data, religious or political beliefs, or government ID, except where the law requires us to verify age or identity.
4. How we use it, and our legal bases
We are a Moldovan company and process personal data under the personal data protection law of the Republic of Moldova. For players in the European Union and the European Economic Area, the GDPR also applies. These laws require a legal basis for each use of personal data. Ours are set out below.
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating and running your account; saving progress; providing the games, matchmaking, game servers, leaderboards, chat and cloud saves | Performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Service) |
| Processing purchases, delivering items, handling refunds and keeping transaction records | Contract; legal obligation (tax and accounting records) |
| Detecting and preventing cheating, fraud, account theft, spam and abuse; moderating chat and player content; enforcing our Community Rules | Legitimate interests (keeping games fair and players safe); legal obligation where online-safety law applies |
| Crash reports, diagnostics and security logs | Legitimate interests (keeping the Services working and secure) |
| Usage analytics to improve and balance the games | Legitimate interests, or consent where the law or the platform requires it (you can opt out in game settings where offered) |
| Answering support requests and messages | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Service emails (security alerts, purchase receipts, changes to terms) | Contract; legal obligation |
| News and marketing emails | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link |
| Complying with law, responding to lawful requests, and establishing or defending legal claims | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights and expectations. You can object to this use; see section 10.
Automated decisions. Anti-cheat and anti-spam systems may automatically flag accounts or mute messages. Decisions to suspend or ban an account are reviewed by a person, and you can appeal any enforcement decision by writing to us.
5. Multiplayer, chat and safety
- What other players see. In online play, other players can see your display name, avatar, level or rank, and what you do in the match. Leaderboards show your display name and score publicly. Do not use your real name as a display name if you do not want it seen.
- Connections. Most of our multiplayer runs through our own servers, so other players do not see your IP address. If a game uses a peer-to-peer or player-hosted mode, your IP address may be visible to the other players in that session; the game will say so where that applies.
- Chat. Text chat is stored so it can be delivered, filtered for abuse and reviewed if reported. If a game offers voice chat, voice is relayed live and is not recorded by us, unless a game clearly offers a reporting clip feature, in which case a short recording is kept only to review that report.
- Reports and moderation. When a player is reported, we review the report, the related chat and match data, and the account's history. We may keep evidence for as long as needed to handle the report and any appeal.
- Blocking and muting. You can block or mute other players where the game offers it. We keep your block list so it continues to work.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with:
-
Service providers (processors) who run parts of the Services for us under contract and only on our instructions. Depending on the game, these are drawn from:
- hosting, game servers, databases and content delivery: Vercel, Cloudflare, Supabase, Convex, and other cloud hosts we may use for game servers;
- sign-in and account management: Clerk, and the sign-in services of Apple, Google, Steam and Discord;
- payments and subscriptions: Stripe, RevenueCat, and the stores themselves;
- crash reporting and analytics: Sentry and PostHog;
- email delivery and support tools.
- Platforms and stores you play through, as needed to process purchases, unlock achievements, or use their friends and multiplayer features.
- Other players, limited to what is described in section 5.
- Authorities and others, where required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, to protect someone from serious harm, or to enforce our terms.
- A successor, if the business or a game is sold or transferred. We will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
A current list of the providers each game uses is available on request.
7. Platforms and stores
When you play through Steam, the App Store, Google Play, a console network or another platform, that platform collects data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. This includes your purchases, payment details and platform account. We receive only what the platform passes to us, such as your platform ID, display name and purchase confirmations.
8. International transfers
We are based in the Republic of Moldova, and our providers process data in the European Economic Area, the United States and other countries, so your personal data may be transferred to Moldova and to those countries. We protect these transfers with the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, with adequacy decisions where they exist (including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified providers), and with additional technical safeguards such as encryption in transit. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
9. How long we keep it
- Account and game data: while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise it within 30 days, apart from what is listed below.
- Inactive accounts: if an account has not been used for 3 years, we may delete it after emailing a warning at least 30 days beforehand.
- Chat messages: up to 90 days, unless they are part of a report.
- Reports and enforcement records: up to 2 years after the case is closed, or longer for repeat or serious violations (for example, to stop a banned player from returning).
- Purchase and tax records: for the period that accounting and tax law requires, usually 6 years and longer only where the law says so.
- Crash reports and logs: up to 90 days.
- Analytics: up to 25 months, then deleted or aggregated so it no longer identifies anyone.
- Support emails: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle of no more than 35 days.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- access your personal data and get a copy of it;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it (see account deletion);
- export it in a portable, machine-readable format;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including any use based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting what we did before;
- not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that significantly affects you.
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, or tell us your player name and platform. We may need to confirm it is you before acting. We answer within one month, and there is no charge. A parent or guardian can make a request for a child.
11. Children
Our games and online services are for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. In countries where the age of digital consent is higher (up to 16 in parts of the EU), a player below that age needs a parent's or guardian's consent to create an account.
For players under 18, we use high-privacy settings by default, no profiling for marketing, no marketing emails without consent, and safety tools such as blocking, muting and reporting always available.
If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Cookies and similar technology
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability.
Our games and web games use local storage, session tokens and device identifiers that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, save settings and run multiplayer. Where a game uses optional analytics storage, it asks for your consent first where the law requires, and you can change your choice in settings.
Our games do not use advertising IDs and do not show third-party ads. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required before it happens.
13. Security
We protect personal data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access limited to people who need it, and providers with recognised security standards. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires. Use a unique password and enable two-factor sign-in where offered.
14. Notice for US residents
If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Utah), you have the rights in section 10, including to know, delete, correct and port your data. In the last 12 months we have collected the categories described in section 3 (identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, approximate geolocation and user content) for the purposes in section 4, and shared them only as described in section 6.
We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights. You may use an authorised agent to make a request. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
15. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our games or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in game, by email or on this site before it takes effect.
